কোটা সংস্কার আন্দোলনকে কেন্দ্র করে সংঘর্ষ-সংঘাতের ঘটনায় ২৩ দিনে ঢাকায় অন্তত ২৮৬টি মামলা হয়েছে। এসব মামলায় নাম উল্লেখ করে আসামির সংখ্যা প্রায় দুই হাজার। আর অজ্ঞাত আসামি করা হয়েছে সাড়ে চার লাখ। ঢাকা মহানগর পুলিশ (ডিএমপি) সূত্রে এসব তথ্য জানা গেছে।

গত ১২ জুলাই থেকে ৩ আগস্ট পর্যন্ত রাজধানীর বিভিন্ন থানায় মামলাগুলো হয়। এসব মামলায় অন্তত ৩ হাজার ৫৮ জনকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। তাঁদের মধ্যে কতজন এখন পর্যন্ত জামিন পেয়েছেন, সেটা সুনির্দিষ্টভাবে জানা যায়নি।

২৮৬টি মামলা বিশ্লেষণ করে দেখা গেছে, ৬১টি মামলায় নাম উল্লেখ করে ১ হাজার ৯৮৩ জনকে আসামি করা হয়েছে। এসব মামলায় অজ্ঞাত আসামিও রয়েছে। ১২৩টি মামলায় কারও নাম উল্লেখ করা হয়নি। তবে অজ্ঞাত আসামির সংখ্যা উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। এই ১২৩টিসহ মোট ১৮৪টি মামলায় ৪ লাখ ৪৫ হাজার ৪১৭ জনকে অজ্ঞাত আসামি করা হয়েছে।

The announcement of his passing came via a family statement, delivered by a representative of Lou Coulson Associates, a British talent agency. It refrained from disclosing the location or cause of his death.

Hill earned critical acclaim for his roles in serious television dramas, independent films, and stage productions. A recent survey involving over 92,000 transgender individuals in the U.S. revealed that despite facing discrimination in healthcare and the workplace, the majority reported higher life satisfaction post-transition. Preliminary findings from the survey, aimed at exploring the experiences of transgender Americans, suggest that transitioning contributes to overall happiness, although many respondents encountered discrimination in various aspects of their lives. Some individuals expressed contemplating relocation to avoid areas with discriminatory laws. Dr. Joshua Safer, Executive Director of the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, noted that while patients are generally satisfied with gender-affirming care, societal hostility remain

A survey revealed that transitioning to their preferred gender identity significantly increased life satisfaction for the majority of respondents. Over three-quarters stated they were "a lot more satisfied," while 15% reported being "a little more satisfied." Only 3% felt no change post-transition, with 1% feeling "a little less satisfied" and 2% "a lot less satisfied." Dr. Safer noted these findings align with practitioners' observations, highlighting the profound impact of gender-affirming hormone treatment. Notably, 84% reported significantly increased satisfaction while undergoing hormone therapy, with an additional 14% experiencing a slight improvement.

According to the survey, individuals who underwent surgery to align with their gender identity displayed even higher levels of life satisfaction. A striking 88% of those who underwent gender-affirming surgery reported being "a lot more satisfied," while 9% noted feeling "a little more satisfied." Merely 1% reported no impact from surgery, and less than 2% felt slightly or significantly less satisfied post-surgery. Dr. Safer emphasized the need for earlier access to care and greater societal support to enhance the well-being of transgender individuals seeking medical assistance.
